I was born in Wailuku, Maui, Hawaii on September 2, 1964. My father is Japanese-American and my mother is German.

From 1973 until present, I've been residing in Clark County, Washington State.

I went to school at Meadow Glade Elementary. Then I went on to Columbia Adventist Academy for 2 years but dropped out and got my GED.

During my high school days, I fell in love with soccer and pursued a career with the Portland Timbers and Seattle Sounders (but both teams and the NASL folded).

In early 1984, I decided to join the US Army and spent 3 years blowing stuff up and playing in the mud. In late 1986, I was 'flagged' for being overweight so I was not allowed to go to the board to become a Sargeant (E-5) even though I could run a mile in less than 6 minutes and could do over 100 push-ups and sit ups in 2 minutes!

After military service I decided to go to college and ended up at Pacific Union College in Angwin, CA. Angwin is a small sleeper town on the hills Northeast of the Napa Valley Vineyards.

But flying got into my blood and I decided to go for a career with the airlines after graduation. I went on to become a flight instructor and was able to assist 7 students to pass their checkrides without failing the first time around in the minimum FAA required time of 40 hours (the national average back then was 70-80 hours)! It was one of my crowning achievements.

Then as luck would have it, I got a flying job in the Grand Canyon and spent an exciting 90 days flying over the ditch. It was wild and bumpy with turbulence that would even make pilots sick.

A friend of mine got me onboard with Yute Air Alaska, based out of Bethel, AK. But just before I was to start flying for them, they had 2 fatalities and so my flying career ended. This was the summer of 1994.

From 1994 to 1997, I worked odd jobs and was dating a gorgeous Mexican woman. That relationship, obviously, did not work out well. So ...

Next, I ended up in South Korea as a Missionary/English Teacher for my church. That adventure started in April 1997 and ended in February 2009.

While I was in Korea, I met my lovely wife and we have a son and daughter together.

I am happily married and enjoy spending time with my family.

Now I'm back in the USA and starting a new chapter in my life ...

    ... to be continued ...
